Radio Ga Ga
Aim: to create your own 20-30 Minute radio Podcast
Equipment Needed: 1 Headphone/Microphone Set, Audacity Program on Computer, Own Music saved as MP3
Step 1: This is a group activity and will be assessed as such. You have been assigned a group-do not change!
Step 2: On paper write an introduction to your ‘Radiosender’. Of course you will need to give it a name in German and the introduction should be brief and to the point.
Step 3: Decide on a person to interview. Write a series of questions to ask your radio guest. The guest should be somebody who speaks German and is not a member of your class!! So some forward planning is required. Potential people could be other students, teachers or people in the community. They need not be famous.
Step 4: Choose 3 songs for your Radiosender. These should be in German and/or you may even consider using your own recordings if you a musically inclined. Write introductions for the songs.
Step 5: Learn about Audacity. Once you are familiar with the program then you may start your recording and mixing of the Radio-podcast. Of course you will need to record your interview either live or outside.
Step 6: Add music to podcast and presto you will be complete. If you wish to extend your ‘Sender’, then feel free to add your readings from earlier this term.
Step 7: Give completed podcasts, saved as MP3 to Mr. Wilson either via USB, as a CD or save it to the student drive and inform me when completed.
For Assessment you will need to submit all written preparation (this will be the written assessment component) and the finished podcast (this will be the oral assessment component).
